The 2011 Havelock Mussel Festival is shaping up to be another anticipated event on Marlborough's festival calendar! New Zealand comic duo The Topp Twins will head up a great list of entertainers. Also performing are glam covers group The Beat Girls, local favourites Remastered and Paul Madsen's Dukes 'n Generals.
The Havelock Mussel Festival is proud to support local community projects. Following the 2010 Havelock Mussel Festival, the Committee are delighted to announce the following donations to organisations within their Community: Total Pledges: $15000.
From 10am-6pm, Marlborough Sounds will see thousands make their way for the annual Havelock Mussel Festival. Back for yet another year of seafood fun, plenty of mussels and entertainment will be found on Havelock Domain on 19 March.
Among the Mussel related activities such as Mussel Munch and the entertaining Kono NZ Mussel opening competition, there will also be a myriad of entertainers: taking to the stage once again will be New Zealand's country music comedy duo The Topp Twins. The Beat girls will be belting out hits of the 60's and 70's, Madsen's Dukes 'n Generals will provide country rock, whilst local cover band Remastered will be playing modern and classic hits for all to enjoy.
Food and drink stalls (including Frute & Rochdale Cider) will be in abundance, as will jewellery and craft stalls and entertainment for the kids in the NTWA Kidzone.
If you're a budding chef the Regal Salmon Cooking Marquee will be hosting cooking demonstrations from celebrity cooks, who are more than willing to share their trade secrets.
Tickets range from $10 in advance to $55 on the day. Children under 5 free.
